Visual Communication and Visual Routines

Learn about why visuals are important, different types of visuals, how to use visuals effectively and how to extend the use of visuals. Learn how to use visual communication systems and incorporate a visual component into your resources in a hands-on practical way. Learn how to use visuals for your child, your student, the person you care for or works with you, and how to support the elderly. Find out how much easier and clearer the world becomes for the individual concerned once you start using visual communication systems. Find out how easy tasks become once a visual component is included.

Education – Using Strategies and Resources for Flexible Learning with an emphasis on students with learning difficulties or special needs

ECE Centre Manager – Very interesting and would suit teachers in mainstream classes who aren’t aware of how to adjust the curriculum for children with needs.

How to Overcome Obstacles and Achieve Goals with Children’s Learning

Do you have a specific problem you want help with for your child or student? Does the child need to focus on schoolwork, homework or specific learning goals? Does the child find school work hard, have a learning difficulty or disability or special needs? This workshop is about overcoming obstacles and achieving goals using resources specific to the child’s problem area and/or goals, helping mainstream, special needs children or those with learning difficulties or disabilities achieve and learn.

Starting a Micro-business – how families can start a micro-business for their family member with a disability and learning challenges

Learn how to support a family member with a disability and learning challenge into their own micro-business, how to pick what to sell or what service to offer and where to go for business support when setting up a micro-business.

Early Education Training – At your Centre:

Visual strategies training specific to your centre and staff. We will come to your Early Education Centre and train your staff in visual strategies for learning and communication. Also included in this package is advice on dealing with special needs children or those showing signs of learning or communication difficulties.

Support Staff Training – In-House

Visual strategies and visual communication specific to your staff involved in caring for or working with either special needs or elderly clients.

Staff Training – In-House

Staff training can be tailored to the needs of your staff. Generally, training covers such topics as; •An introduction to visual communication, •Extending beyond visuals – using more resources than just visuals. •How to create a flexible learning environment. •Teaching carer support staff how to more effectively help their clients, •How to help students with special needs or learning difficulties in the mainstream classroom. Training is flexible to suit your needs.
