Physical Skills Class – For individuals with learning challenges
An activity class to get individuals with learning challenges to have fun while learning new skills. This class includes balance, agility, fitness, upper body strength and activities in a fun environment. We look at the needs and abilities of the individual and provide activities to suit those needs.
If you are a disability support organisation or a school who would like to run our class please email email@example.com for more information.
Upcycling/Eco-friendly Skills Programm – For individuals with learning challenges
We have a skills programme teaching skills for upcycling/crafting and making eco-friendly products for individuals with special needs or learning challenges.
Some of the products made in the programme are sold at local markets, some shops (Rampant Coffee New Lynn, Auckland and The Fantail house Parnell, Auckland) and on Trademe (click here) which helps fund the programme.
We currently have a simple craft class running on Monday mornings 9:45am-11:15am at the New Lynn community centre, New Lynn, Auckland in 2020. You will get to make tote bags, cushions, mosaics, paper beads, pulped paper decorations, basic felting plus more over time. Materials and equipment are supplied and you will take home your creations. Spaces are limited and priority is given to individuals with disability/learning challenges. A support person must attend at no additional cost. If spaces are available we are happy for caregivers who would like a break to do something different, to attend. Cost is $150 per term and must be paid before the first session of the term.
If you are interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org
We are creating more activity and skills classes and will list them as we get them up and running. Please let us know if there is a type of class you are looking for, maybe we can create it for you.
